AWGA announces addition of Rob Fullmer

TEMPE (June. 19, 2020) – The Arizona Wine Growers Association (AWGA) announced the addition of Rob Fullmer, executive director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, to the AWGA board of directors. Fullmer will serve as Tourism/Community/Education Representative and sit on the Marketing committee and the Legislative committee.

“It has been a long-term goal to create more understanding and cooperation between alcohol producers in Arizona and I think this is a great step for all of us. I bring the collaborative spirit of our brewers and a wiliness to listen and learn from our wine growers. It’s time for our Arizona wine makers, brewers, and distillers to work together to claim market share and remove policy barriers that limit our success and keep us divided.”

Fullmer also serves on the board of the Arizona License Beverage Association (ALBA) and is the executive director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the brewer’s guild.

Fullmer joins newly elected board of director members Kim Koistinen, Northern Arizona Representative, Chateau Tumbleweed; Kelly Bostock, At-Large Representative, Dos Cabezas WineWorks;  Kent Callaghan (Re-elected and returning), Southern Arizona Representative/Membership Chair, Callaghan Vineyards; Jesse Noble, South Eastern Arizona Representative, Grower, Buhl Memorial Vineyard; and Tracy Dempsey, Hospitality Representative, Owner & Baker Tracey Dempsey Originals.

About Rob Fullmer

Fullmer has headed the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild for almost 7 years and successfully campaigned the Arizona Beer Bill (SB-1030) into law five years ago. The bill lifted the barrelage cap that put Arizona breweries at a disadvantage compared to neighboring states. The bill also allowed breweries to sell collaboration beers made with other Arizona breweries. During Fullmer’s tenure, the guild increased its membership from 25 to 100 breweries, allied membership grew an additional 100 members. The guild’s premier event, Arizona Strong Beer Festival grew to the largest single day beer festival in the southwest with crowds approaching 10,000.
