Arizona Craft Brewers Guild Celebrates Arizona’s Best Showing Ever at the 2023 World Beer Cup
Nashville, Tenn. – May 10, 2023 – The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild is proud to announce that four Arizona breweries were recognized with five awards at the 2023 World Beer Cup (WBC) awards ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee. The WBC is the world’s largest professional beer competition, with 10,213 entries from 51 countries competing for gold, silver, and bronze awards. The five awards earned by four Arizona Breweries is the state’s best showing since the inception of the competition in 1996 according to Rob Fullmer, Executive Director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.
- Saddle Mountain Brewing Co. of Goodyear, AZ, took home two medals: a gold medal in the American Wheat Beer category for Taildragger 5G and a silver medal in the Scottish-Style Ale category for Taildragger Clan-Destine.
- State 48 Brewery of Scottsdale, AZ, was awarded a gold medal in the Strong Porter category for Baltic Porter.
- Flying Basset Brewing of Gilbert, AZ, received a bronze medal in the Coffee Beer category for Alchemist Breakfast.
- LazyG Brewhouse of Prescott, AZ, also received a bronze medal in the English Ale category for Sunshine Blonde.

The competition is annualized since 2022, and this year marked the 14th competition.
The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization that unites the Arizona independent beer-brewing community to promote the virtues and raise the profile of Arizona’s locally crafted beers.
